Walk & Listen: An Audiobook Club, Saturday, 9/26, 9:30 – 10:30 amJoin us for a walk through our neighborhood while we listen to our own audiobooks together, as we stroll and end back at the library for a conversation. Bring headphones and your device. If you are new to Libby or Hoopla arrive 5 minutes early, and we’ll help you get set up.

Bilingual Storytime/Hora de Cuentos Bilingüe, Saturday, 10/3, 11am – 12pm Join us for an English-Spanish bilingual storytime featuring stories, songs, and movement for children ages 18 months to 3 years and their caregivers. After storytime, stay and play with age-appropriate toys until 12:00 PM.
Fall Seed & Plant Swap, Saturday, 10/3, 1pm – 3 pmGot extra seeds, plants, seedlings, or plant cuttings? Swap them for something new! Whether you’re growing a garden or sprucing up your indoor space, join us for a fun plant exchange. Bring healthy, labeled plants, and get ready to grow your collection!
Coffee with a Cop, Saturday, 10/10, 11am – 12 pm
Join your neighbors and members of the Area 2 (North Oakland) beat team for coffee & conversation! No agenda or speeches – just a chance to ask questions, voice concerns, and get to know the beat officers in your neighborhood. Cookies, tea, and hot cocoa will be provided.
Make Your Own Mini Piñata, Saturday, 10/17, 11am – 12:30pm
Originally used in Latin America to celebrate religious holidays, the piñata has evolved into a beloved tradition, a festive favorite across the U.S., bringing joy, color, and creativity to various gatherings. You’ll get to make your very own mini piñata. All materials will be provided!
Gardening Workshop: Edible Landscaping, Saturday, 10/17, 2 – 3pm

A UC Master Gardener will guide you through selecting the right planting site based on sun and shade, preparing and improving your soil, watering, mulching, fertilizing, choosing what to plant, and managing pests at acceptable levels. Making informed decisions in these areas will help you enjoy a plentiful harvest throughout your garden.
